After connecting to my apple tv, I have a hard time playing music on my iPhone

After the new update I am struggling to play music on my iPhone after being connected to my apple tv. I am only connected to my apple for the remote function, I’m not even playing music. In the picture attached, you can see that my iPhone is selected but in the background the music is not actually there. This was similar to what I was seeing before the update, but it was easy to switch the speaker “back” to my iPhone. User error or update glitch? Thanks!

Close the Music App and Force restart iPhone


  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.
