How to Control my Apple Music on my smart tv

I have an extensive music library stored on my mac mini m4 in my basement office, in my main floor living room i have a samsung smart tv with the apple music app installed. I am able to play my library through AIRPLAY on the smart tv, however i am only able to control the airplay from my mac mini....ideally, i would like to be able to scroll the library, select or skip tunes from the smart tv....is there something i am missing?

does anyone have a solution to this situation....help would be most appreciated.

Airplay does not provide control to the TV. It merely sends the audio to the TV, and the TV just responds by playing it. The operation is done on the Mac mini in its entirety and all control happens on the Mac mini. The TV is just a receiver in this case.

You have options, some free, some not so much.

If you have another device, like an iPhone or an iPad, you can connect to the Mac mini over Home sharing and then Airplay to the TV from the other device. That way you can control the playback from the other device.

If your TV supports it, you can use something like Plex to access your library form the TV and control playback there.

Lastly, you can get an Apple TV Box, use that to access the library on the Mac mini and play it back again using Home Sharing.
