Tahoe lunchpad not finding apps that are there

Just upgraded to Tahoe and immediately noticed that the launchpad can't find the applications that are there (i can find them by just scrolling through). First i thought there were some apps that were deleted because they were no longer compatible, but it turns out they are there. It couldn't even find numbers and keynote until i found them manually and launched them. VERY VERY disappointing. Honestly it seems that Apple is turning into microsoft i ran from all these years ago.
