Reminders app update deletes and restores old reminders on iPhone 12

Hi everyone. I have an iPhone 12 on iOS 18.6.2. I went into my reminder app today to make a new reminder and saw a blue UPDATE button next to “My Lists”:

*Note that it says I have 0 reminders but at the time I had 2, let’s call them A and B.

I clicked it, and saw this screen:

I pressed “update now” and the screen changed to this:

My old reminders had disappeared completely! A and B were gone. Instead, I had 2 different reminders, which were ones I had gotten rid of months ago. Let’s call them C and D. Okay, weird.

But, since I remembered what the old ones were, I deleted C and D and remade A and B, plus the one I had originally gone on the app to make. A2.0, B2.0, and E.

I exited the app. My Reminders widget displayed A and B. Like, the original A and B. ??? And, I have an app called Widgetsmith which also displays my reminders, and IT is still displaying C, D, and for some reason E???

WHAT is going on??? I then went back into the reminders app and it was back to the way it was before I updated it, complete with the update button and reminders A and B. Hence why I was able to take any of these screenshots. I’ve repeated the process like 5 times of updating it and it keeps deleting my old reminders, bringing back even older ones, and then un-updating itself. ???
