Creating a shortcut for assistive touch based on Bluetooth mouse connection on iPad

I want to create a shortcut to turn on and off assistive touch when a certain bluetooth mouse is connected and disconnected from my iPad. You can only use shortcuts with a mouse if assistive touch is turned on.

In Shortcuts, add an automation (bottom center in the bottom toolbar):

  1. Choose "Bluetooth" as the automation trigger.
  2. Select your mouse.
  3. Check both "Is Connected" and "IS disconnected".
  4. Select "Run Immediately".
  5. Tap Next.
  6. Choose "Create New Shortcut".
  7. Add the action "Set AssistiveTouch".
  8. Tap the word "Turn" and select "Toggle".

Now every time the mouse is connected or disconnected, AssistiveTouch will be toggled on and off.
