Can't open Visual Intelligence With Camera Control Button in iPhone 17

Long pressing the camera control button should open the visual intelligence. But I can't do the same on my new iPhone 17. I checked the same with apple support team, but they were not able to resolve the issue. Is anyone else also facing the same issue? I have enabled Apple Intelligence, the option to launch visual intelligence through camera control button is also enabled. Yet the problem exists

Also it is asking me to press the camera control button twice when I have set it to open the camera app when I click the button once.

Opening the visual intelligence through the action button is also not working smooth. It works sometimes and doesn't work sometimes.

Anyone else with these issues? pls help if anyone knows.

Yes, this is a problem that I too am experiencing on iPhone 17 Pro Max. I was at the Genius Bar at Apple and they told me Apple was aware and that some sort of engineering work order was out there to fix it. The store techi tried everything, reloading iOS 26, restarts. They compared their settings with mine and they were exactly the same. The camera button worked inconsistently. They ran diagnostics on the hardware and the phone was fine. The temporary fix was to set up the action button as Visual Intelligence which then opens the camera and displays the AI facilities. Call Apple for more

information.
