iPadOS 26 - Keyboard does not show .com .org etc when long pressing dot button in Safari address bar

In iPadOS 18, when I went to the address bar in Safari and entered a URL, long pressing the dot button on the keyboard would display suggested domain types (.com .org .net etc).

After I’ve upgraded to iPadOS 26, this doesn’t happen anymore.

I only see the following characters when long pressing dot button in the Safari address bar

¿ … "

I’m located in Australia and have the Australian keyboard as my default keyboard. I’ve tried adding the US keyboard and switching to the US keyboard by long pressing the globe icon (bottom left corner of keyboard), but this hasn’t made any difference - the .com .org, etc still doesn’t show when long pressing the dot button in the Safari address bar.

Does anyone have any ideas; is this a setting I need to enable, or is it a bug with iPadOS 26?

I haven’t updated my iPhone yet, so can’t confirm if the same issue happens on iPhone.

To everyone that’s experiencing the issue on iPadOS 26.

I discovered that the suggested domain types appear on iPadOS when you shrink the keyboard so it appears as a small floating keyboard and long press the dot character in the Safari address bar.

But it doesn’t work for the full sized keyboard.

The OS determines what type of text field you have selected as to what type of keyboard is displayed. Not sure what all the (kind/types) of keyboards there are but some examples would be Text Field, Email address Field, Math Field and so on. Obviously something is a miss with the Web Address Field in Safari that's set to something that doesn't show the domain links under the Period "." button or the keyboard is programmed wrong? Ive played around on the net with certain text entry fields on web pages. If the keyboard has a dedicated "@" button it does have the domain's under the Period "." button.

Mind you this issue for me is with iPad 11" M3. For whatever reason this isn't the case on my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9. The 12.9 iPad has 5 rows of keys where the 11" only has 4 rows of keys, could this be a design mistake on the 4 row keyboard?
