There is nothing exchanged from your phone and the App Developer while updating the app. Meta is the most prolific updater I have seen, with their apps being updated as much at least 10 times EVERY month.
- WhatsApp - 14 times in the last month
- Facebook - 11 times in the last month
- Messenger - 10 times in the last month
- Instagram - 14 times in the last month
I think it is clear in this case that Meta does very little in-house testing before they release updates and rely on their users to be the bug testers. After one bug is patched another one is introduced and the cycle continues. That is an indication of poor coding practices than any feature improvements.
You should know that Apple is not here to answer any of your questions. This support site is made up of users to assist others when they can. I can tell you that I am a Developer with several apps in the App Store and there are a few things that we know from metric data, but nothing about any particular device or any personal information. Some things we can observe are:
- Daily app downloads
- Daily app updates
- Daily revenue
- Refunds granted on app
- Crash Reports if sent from a user with anonymized data, so impossible for identification.
The information an app gets from you is what you have allowed to share after launching the app, and showing on the Privacy Page of the App Store., nothing to do with installs. The app has no idea what other apps are installed.
