After updating my iPad to iPadOS version 26.0 (23A341), the iPad can no longer use the split screen feature. How can I fix this issue?

Now it is the tap of the green button and choose the layout you want. It is different than before, but I do not consider it overly complicated. You have more options available to you with that single tap than you ever had before. You can send feedback to Apple here.

Apple does not see complaints hers. If you wish an Apple emplyee to see your concern, you must use:

multitask & gestures you have to be using windowed app for it to work.

Split screen and slide over have been removed in iPadOS26.

The new windowing system is extremely overcomplicated. It's wrecked many people's workflows.

For the first time ever, I've rolled back my iPad to the earlier iPadOS - which was a major inconvenience due to having to set everything up from scratch again

I am finding that Apple have over complicated the method for using split screen. Previously it was as simple as tap the three buttons and choose the second window. Now is overly complicated. Feels very much on a par of great mistakes along with Microsoft’s disastrous Windows Me edition.

hold the green button it will show you the split screen

Pull down from top of screen you should see a menu bar and a group of buttons that are red yellow and green. Tap that and then tap and hold green button

I’ve submitted feedback to Apple. If you want the option to use the old iPad windowing system I recommend you do the same.

How were you able to achieve that? I did not think there was a way to go backwards to a previous OS.
