Preventing an app from accessing custom user folders

In Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Files & Folders, we are able to provide access for some apps to predefined directories like Downloads, Desktop, and Documents. I was wondering - is it possible to add such a setting for a user's folder, e.g., "MyProjects"? Or at least mimic this behaviour in any way? I am testing a bunch of Total Commander-like file explorers, some of which are not open source, hence I'd like to have them sandboxed for a while.
