Apple Music Smart Playlist plays only first track in playlist (Tahoe)

All kinds of weird things are happening with Smart Playlist play order in macOS Tahoe. The previous behavior:

1. Songs are played in the order of sorting based on the column selected for sorting when viewing by songs.
2. Up Next (now "Continue Playing") should stop when Auto Play or repeat is off.

Now:

1. Neither the view as songs column sort nor the filter/sort control (the three lined icon) seem to control the play order.
2. Songs past the expected end appear in "Continue Playing" no matter if the AutoPlay is dark or light red.

So for example right now, the last song in my smart playlist just finished and should have stopped there, but instead the last song (!!!) from the album with that would sort first in the sort options is playing. The sort options in the filter control has "Album" and "Ascending" check and the Songs view has "Album by Artist ^" (i.e., sorting in ascending order) selected – they do not agree with each other. In the previous version of macOS, the smart playlist would be playing using Album By Artist, ascending.

This is on macOS Tahoe (just upgraded today), using a local library. My iPhone syncs with this library; it's running iOS 26 and there, the playlist order didn't seem to exhibit the same issues when I upgraded just the iPhone.

I also noticed that a "Sort Album Artist" column appeared, which is odd. It's blank for quite a few albums in that playlist, if that information helps.
