iMovie Taking Forever to Export/YouTube Won't Upload Videos
I have a 5th generation iPad Air that recently updated to iPadOS 18.7, and I'm having massive issues trying to record my videos for my online courses. I use the Notability app and screen recording to film my lectures, edit them in iMovie, export them, and then upload to YouTube. I've been doing this for the 4 years I've had this iPad with zero issues. My iMovie is on version 3.0.5 now.
Nothing has changed with the screen recordings/Notability. I have no problems there. I can edit the videos fine in iMovie too, but the problems started arising with exporting. It used to take 5-10 minutes to export my 40ish minute videos, but now after 90 minutes it's barely exported 20% of the video. So I tested it out to see if I could still upload to YouTube, and for a 5 minute clip, the same issue occurs. What took 5-10 minutes to upload, now takes 60+ minutes to even make a small dent.
I'm having to export the files to my OneDrive (which doesn't take long for that import) to use my laptop to edit and upload them. It's become such a time consuming process for something that never was and I don't know what to do to fix this. I've tried looking up the issue and have gone through restarting, redownloading the apps, freeing up storage, etc., but nothing has worked. Any help would be appreciated! I miss the old process I had!
