Clock on iPadOS 26 home screen keeps freezing

• iPad Air (5th gen)

The clock on the home screen of my iPadOS keeps on freezing for no apparent reason. Thus far, it has not led to any scheduling disasters, but I feel that it is only a matter of time (pun intended!) before catastrophe ensues! I first noticed this problem a couple of betas back, but, I foolishly imagined that Apple would sort it out before the release version was delivered.

The clock can be made to start again by simply tapping it, but, in all honesty, this is an ergonomic non-starter ;-)
