Ever since I got it a few months ago, my M4 Max Studio will not auto-sleep. The display goes off, but I know it's not sleeping as when my guitar is plugged in I can still hear it if I pluck the strings.
If I select Sleep from the 'Apple' menu in top left, it sleeps OK.
Any ideas?
Automatic Computer Sleep has been an on going problem for some time now.
As a test:
Turn On "Prevent automatic sleeping when display is off"
Set "Turn display off when inactive" to 5 or 10 minutes
Leave the Mac Studio On and only allow the display(s) to turn Off
Do not manually Sleep from the Apple Drop Down menu
Shut Down the Mac when away for a day or more
A solution may come, if enough folks send Feedback to Apple.
When you’re display is sleeping, you can’t see the screen but everything is still running. Even if it requires your login password after waking up your display, it still continues running in the background.
Yep, that's my point! It's not auto-sleeping, but it does when sleep is selected from the Apple menu.
The option in Energy 'Prevent automatic sleeping when display is off' is disabled.
So, are we saying that it just doesn't work. Nothing specific to my Studio?
It is not specific to just the Mac Studio.
