Logic Pro playhead not snapping to 1/64th note for precise region splitting

Usually I can do this with the Split at Playhead function and then choosing Split, Keep or Shorten, but today it didn't work, even though I set Quantize to 1/64th of a note. The playhead won't let me fine tune the playhead location so I can avoid chopping off some notes that I want to keep, because the playhead won't snap to a finer measurement of a note. So I either chop needed notes, or keep the notes, but then the regions are too long. I searched in the Logic Pro Help section but there was no answers shown.

Tom, whenever I have Snap-to problems like yours, it's because under the Snap dropdown menu, it's set to Snap to Relative Value. Change that to Snap to Absolute Value and it will probably work now.

Thanks, Yoyo Ben.

I tried your advice but I found that Smart Snap is my default selection already.

I also discovered that I could solve my problem by using the Resize pointer to shorten the appearance of my region by using the resize pointer to drag the right edge of the region slightly to the left. Then I deleted the previous, long, repeated regions on my track in question and replaced them with duplicates of the modified, shortened regions. This way, those replaced regions fit into the patterns that I've made in the song's other tracks, and I don't hear any notes that are cut off, which is what I wanted.
