Replacing Launchpad for organizing multiple SWDev client environments on MacBook Pro
I'm a old school Linux IT swDev with dozens of clients.
Using different launchpad pages and folders, I've organized virtual desktops for each client, swDev tools by publisher, added specific versions of apps for specific clients, and software in development , even the phases of qa (test with qa tools, if written up, etc), I use scripts to add & modify apps via the command line to include security key options, search paths, build environments, etc. Then, drag n drop, or delete easy peasy.
Next macOS deletes the launchpad !?!
I know it was a hack. What is the proper way to do this? Like the entire hierarchy on MacOS. I dont' want to load a virtual linux instead. That's super storage and performance heavy. A lot of the environments are remote, manage clouds, web sites, etc. So, a virtual linux os is super overkill.
I don't want just a desktop, dev tree. Will finder work include the options, or just the dot app file easily? The launch Gui showed the page/folder hierarchy. I don't want to create a lot of clunky long named apps, especially as MacOS tools aren't great at showing the full paths and long names of files.
I'm stressed. Hundreds of apps, folders, pages for each client version, omg.
Please send me links to tools, apps, or tutorials.
Thank you,
Pam
