The iOS 26 keyboard in Apps like “Messages” is so large it takes up 2/3 of the screen and doesn’t allow me to see what I’m typing. It is very frustrating to type through a whole message only to realize there are mistakes to correct only after I minimize the keyboard before hitting send. Can this be corrected?

Do you have any keyboard options set using Accessibility?
Are you on a iPhone or an iPad? On iPad it only takes up the normal amount (for me), so if you are on an iPad, I would think it might be a problem with your specific type.
Here’s a screen shot of my iPad Pro 13” screen with keyboard. It leaves very little room for viewing what you’re writing.

You aren’t using Safari, are you? Keyboards and their behavior can vary between apps.
