FCP 11.2 released
I updated to FCP 11.2 yesterday and everything worked fine. I had to update the library I was working on upon opening it, but that happens every time we update FCP. However, I discovered something about this library update process.
The library files are not backwards compatible!
Just for the heck of it, I installed a backup of FCP 11.0.1 to see what would happen if I attempted to open one of the 11.2 updated libraries. It does not work. I get this error message:
I could still open an older library in 11.0.1 that had not yet been updated, but an 11.2 updated library will not open in older versions of FCP.
I'm not sure if this is a problem or not.
Please note that once you update your library, you cannot revert to the older version. Be sure to back up your data with Time Machine before updating.
Also, the end of Final Cut Pro connecting to FireWire devices, which has been in the software since the first version in 1998.
Motion 5.11 also released (w-a-a-a-a-y beyond my reach...)
Template XML info:
ozml = 5.15 ?

Tom! Great to see your replies again! Yeah, I was disappointed too to see Firewire go, but honestly haven't used it in quite a while.
That’s always been the case when the library is updated. Before it updates it should make backup data library in your backup folder.
Well there ya go...a day late and a dollar short - again! Story of my life. (Just kidding.)
Seriously, thanks, Tom. I forgot about the library backups.
