Icon change for website shortcuts in macOS Tahoe 26 and folder color tag removal

1) In OS Tahoe 26 did the icon change from dragging website address to the desktop for a shortcut? I'm not sure if I changed something, I was going through some settings and then, I noticed the website shortcuts I had didn't look like they used to. They used to have the blue Safari logo and then now mine is showing this gray globe. I don't know if it was something I did or would the update of OS Tahoe 26

2) Also when you change an individual folder color, it gets the dot with the tag. Is there any way to remove that dot tag and only change the individual folder color?

The issue is really the dot when you change the color folder when customize your folder I'd prefer not to show the dot.

It's possible to do what you want with a little effort. Select the folder you want and chose the color you want from Customize Folder. That will add the dot. Then, select the folder and press command+i which opens the Get Info window. Click on the folder's icon in the window and press command+C. Remove the customization from Customize Folder. Click on the folder icon in the Get Info window again and press command+V.

Hopefully I've explained that well enough.

I'm not sure why it's showing MacBook Pro 15 inch. I have a MacBook Pro 2021 16 inch M1 Max

I was wondering if there was a way to remove the dot because tags are supposed to help you organize so you can locate visually looking, however, if everything has a dot, it's sort of defeats the purpose?

for your MacBook Pro 15″ click on your user name and go to preferences you can edit that byline.

If not there look at your >System Settings>Apple Account (?)

or Call Customer Support (800) MY–APPLE (800–692–7753)

Control click your folder —individually if you hover or click your color tag—Remove is an option

Thanks for confirming the new Safari icon look is now that gray globe.

As far as the folder colors:

I'm familiar with changing the color the settings appearance which changes all your folder colors and I'm also familiar with how to change the individual folder color and or picture. The new way included in the OS update, we are picking a tag color and it puts that dot of the tag.

I was wondering if there was a way to remove the dot because tags are supposed to help you organize so you can locate visually looking, however, if everything has a dot, it's sort of defeats the purpose?

I've been changing folder, colors and images for years, just dragging and dropping to the get info icon, however, I would like to use the Apple way of changing the color so it shows a little paper when something's in the folder.

thanks,

I think you're misunderstanding that maybe I'm not being clear enough.

Im aware of what you are saying, however also removes the color of the folder also, I'm wondering if you can individually change the color of a folder without the tag dot from showing?

I have a MacBook Pro 15 inch as well. I thought I selected 16 inch probably made an error when I selected my device, I was sure I selected the MacBook Pro 16 inch and I thought it was the only selection because we're talking about Tahoe 26 which my 2012 15 inch is still on Catalina. That really wasn't a problem. I just didn't realize why it was there. The issue is really the dot when you change the color folder when customize your folder I'd prefer not to show the dot. If not, I'll just use my own images, but I want to use the Apple format and then it shows you with that little paper in there now but there's something in the folder.
