ipad air not saving contacts to icloud

I have been doing everything to try and figure out why my iPad wasn’t saving contacts to iCloud so my iPhone and iPad contacts are synched. I’ve signed out of iCloud, done a hard restart, and even turned off contacts in iCloud….and FINALLY SOLVED IT! In contacts, go to LISTS at the top and make sure iCloud is checked!
