TVOS 26 broke Apple Home matter over thread.

I have 2 Eve outlets (matter) and 1 Eve motion sensor (matter) along with 2 Inovelli switches (matter). All have been working flawlessly since installing in 2024. I have 2 Apple TVs, 2 current gen Apple Homepods and 1 Apple HomePod mini. As soon as I upgraded the current gen Apple TV (which is set to be my Home Hub) to TVOS 26 the Eve and Inovelli matter devices became unavailable in Apple Home. I've now upgraded all the Apple TVs and Apple HomePods to TVOS 26 as well as my Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max to iOS 26. I've rebooted all the ATV and HomePod hubs multiple times along with the Eve and Inovelli matter devices. All my other HomeKit devices from Philips Hue and Lutron have continued to work just fine. If I reboot the Apple Home Hub then Apple Home will report the Eve/Inovelli matter device was "just seen". So it appears rebooting the Apple Home Hub will establish a connection for a second but then immediately the matter devices is unavailable. The problem started as soon as I updated to TVOS 26. And it only affects devices connected via matter over thread.

26.0.1 didn’t help me either. All Matter devices - and only Matter devices - remained unreachable. In order to return to my pre-TVOS 26 stability I had to delete all my Matter devices and add them to HomeKit anew. Deleting them also left holes in many automations which then had to be repaired one by one. This all took a few hours. My wife takes advantage of some of what our smart home offers but would be just as happy if I’d added none of it. She says I can’t “go first” as she wouldn’t be able to maintain it. Statistically that is most likely, which does give me pause after how badly Apple fubared this TVOS 26 upgrade. I have a long standing practice of waiting until at least the .3 release of Mac OS before I’ll upgrade my principal laptop and home desktop. I’ll now be taking the same approach with TVOS. Do better Apple. This is the kind of crap I expect out of lesser operating systems.
