Face ID did not work on my iPad this morning. I restarted the iPad, and attempted at least 6 times. Didn’t work. Tried to reset Face ID. Could not fit my face in the circle. Only my chin and lower lip showed up in the camera image.

I suddenly realized that I wasn’t seeing the green light of the iPad Pro Camera. It was being obscured by the iPad Pencil that was hanging loose in front of it and allowing only the lower (or upper) fringe of the camera.
