doubt any apple store in the world gives you a choice of models as in where they are produced and which market they were meant to operate in.

You cannot request a phone to be manufactured in your country of choice. Phones sold in Taiwan are manufactured where Apple determines they are manufactured and you can't change that at all. It doesn't matter why this matters to you, so please don't share your reason.

I watched an interesting video last night about the manufacture of iPhone. It turns out parts which ultimately are assembled in an iPhone come from more than 200 Countries around the world. It was very fascinating. And yes, you are correct. Where the phone is assembled shouldn't really matter because the parts are made all around the globe by different manufacturers.
