Shuffling "smart folder" of smart playlists no longer works in Tahoe

Previously, I have been listening to music on my desktop Mac by getting Music to shuffle a folder I created that includes several smart playlists that pick out specific songs from specific music eras (and removes them after being played). For as long as the folder is updated by the smart playlists, the music will go on playing in shuffle mode (until I stop it).

Now, after updating to Tahoe, Music will only shuffle the contents of the folder (as generated by the smart playlists) at the exact moment in time that I press "Shuffle." It locks in the contents of the folder as a static playlist and will not play any new songs added by the smart playlists to the folder.

Whhhhhhyyyyyy????? It was working so magically! Please bring that feature back... Pretty please...

So I "converted" the smart folder by creating another smart playlist and calling all the smart playlists from said folder into this new smart playlist, and the same thing happens. The smart playlist will only shuffle those songs that have been generated by the list at that moment in time when "shuffle" is initiated. It will not continue shuffling once this initial static list has been played through, even if other songs have been generated by the smart playlist.
