Macbook native Messages app has gone from fine to grrr to dead in less than 24 hrs

Yesterday evening, I noticed that my native messages app was no longer open on the screen so I clicked on the icon on the dock thinking maybe I had minimized it. It opened right up and I went to click on the text message that I had been actively communicating on For days on end. As soon as I clicked on that message, the entire app closed. I tried to open it again and got a pop-up message about how it had closed unexpectedly. And did I wanna try to reopen it. I also got a problem report screen that came up and said that the report would automatically be sent to Apple. So I clicked reopen and the app reopened just fine. I was able to click into and function in any other message thread except one specific thread, which would crash the app every time. I followed many of the suggestions in the Apple support forums and nothing worked. Mind you I could open that message thread successfully on two other devices with no problem… And I even created a duplicate user profile for myself on the MacBook, which could also access that message with no problem. I’ve tried all of the suggestions turn iMessage to yes for iCloud turn it to know for iCloud. I restarted I started in safe mode. I updated my OS… Now today I can’t even open the messages app at all. I can’t force close it because it’s not open. The only thing that I can get to open if you will is the window that says it closed unexpectedly. Do you want to try to reopen which if I click reopen I just get a problem report window again and it’s gone. I worked with support via chat today for a long time and was asked had I tried just uninstalling messages and reinstalling it… At which point I lost all faith in humanity because it’s a native app… You can’t just delete and reinstall like you would do some third-party app. When I mentioned that and asked if I’m missing something, please tell me how to do it and I will try the support person had no information for me so… I am totally at a loss and I just can’t understand How one user profile and two other devices can open messages and access anything I want to with no problem, and yet my original user profile on my MacBook cannot even open the app anymore!
