how to enable icloud sync with swiftdata

My apps data (swiftData) is stored in iCloud backup. So if user restores their device my apps data is there. However if a user deletes and reinstalls my app only it's blank.

Is there truly no way to restore from iCloud just the data from my app? requiring user to reinstall their entire device just to recover their data for my app surely can't all that iCloud and cloudKit can do!
