there are issues in any upgraded macOS. The unknown bugs come to the surface after millions of user engage, and get sorted out along the way .

Nothing new here.

point updates keep rolling out for about 4-5 years on supported operating systems...

if you have reservations— then don't. I am certainly not going to try and convince you one way or the other.

No way. In MacOS 26, someone clever replaced the launchpad with a useless spotlight search engine. If it were easy, I would immediately go back to an earlier version.

That doesn't make the update "unsafe." It just makes the update "something Xsabi really doesn't like."

You should submit your feedback to Apple:

Lesson for the future: Don't update right away. Wait a couple of weeks and read what people are saying on the forums and in the press.

We can not and should not make that decision for you

I do suggest reading about macOS 26 Tahoe Before you considering upGrading

We do see some who regret upgrading for some reason or another

On the whole, Tahoe version 26.0, still has some refinements that will probably be addressed in further updates

Have upgraded 3 machines from Sequoia 15.6.1 to macOS 26.0 Tahoe

No real issue apart from " the elimination of Launchpad problematic. " credit to @ neuroanatomist

Launchpad was in the top five of most useless features of macOS.

I have never used launchpad, but I have used Spotlight from the moment it was able to launch applications. If all Spotlight did was launch applications, it would be far and away one of the most useful features of macOS.

I was frankly astonished by the number of people who say it was important to them. I remember when it was released, people were complaining about how dumbed down it was and why would you use it when you Finder windows. I think a lot of people don't really know what you can do with Finder windows and aliases.

SinceI figured out how to stop my (way too many) iPhone apps from showing, I love the new version. I've been using Spotlight as my app launcher for years. This just adds another option.
