First, try a forced restart. If that doesn't work take it in to the Apple store to have it looked at.

• Press and quickly release the volume up button

• Press and quickly release the volume down button

• Press and hold the side button.

• When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have it diagnosed.

A .Rid of "System Data" (Formerly Called "Other"):

System Data is composed of caches. Caches are created for remembrance of application usage and operability. So, clear them, and see if this fixes this. Use my User Tip: How to Clear "System Data" in your iPhone's Storage - Apple Community

B. Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread
4. Proceed from there as necessary

C. Get your iPhone Serviced:

Is there any bulging? If so, then that would indicate that there is a hardware issue, most likely a corroding battery. In such a case, that would indicate this has become a heath hazard. Bulging or not, see about getting this serviced.

Other than taking this to Apple, you can take this to an AASP (Apple Authorized Serviced Provider). See an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) in your local area...
