Playback of music on alac to a vintage audio system with rca jacks without a computer.

My computer is in the office and the hifi is in the living room. I have downloaded my cd collection to a usb (around 300 cd's) in ALAC format. What do I need to use the usb for my music source? Please use brand names so I can look them up. The words media player and ADC don't help much as there are so many and all do not accept USB and out in rca. Some don't read ALAC, or read from a USB. It seemed like a good idea when I started this adventure. Everyone tells you how easy it is without telling you brand names of equipment to check to make sure it will work with this set up.
