MacBook Pro overheating with macos Tahoe 26 (mediaanalysisd)

Since installing macOS 26 Beta, the mediaanalysisd process has been using too much CPU. Now that I’ve upgraded to the final release, the issue persists and my MacBook Pro is still overheating. I’m not sure what this process does, but the issue seems clearly related to macOS 26.

Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 26.0

mediaanalysisd — the background process in macOS that uses machine learning to scan, analyze, and categorize media files like photos and videos on your Mac to enable features such as object-based search, Live Text detection, and QR code recognition within Finder and the Photos app.

unplug all non-essential peripherals when testing

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

and compare your results after restarting...
