iTunes Rearranging My Desktop Icons

Every time iTunes updates it removes the desktop icon and puts the new icon back in the wrong place. I'm getting tired of having to rearrange my icons every time iTunes updates. My desktop is not set to auto arrange icons, it is set to align to grid. I keep the iTunes icon in the fourth position and it constantly puts itself into the first position after updating, pushing all my other icons out of their position. Does anyone know why it does this, and is there a way to stop it? Or should I just uninstall it permanently?
