Sharing .pkpass files with students

I am running a school trip to an event. I have booked the tickets for all the students and printed out the pdfs of them, however, there was also a link to download to Apple Wallet, so I have downloaded the pkpass files for each student. I feel that it would be harder to lose a digital pass than it would a piece of paper.

I have tried sending myself the pkpass file, but cannot figure out how to get it into my wallet. I've clicked the file in the email, downloaded it and clicked it when in the folder on my phone and tried to add it from the wallet app, but haven't managed to import it to my wallet. Is there a work around, or am I going to have to rely on them not to lose a piece of paper?

Tickets added to Apple Wallet are under the restrictions and limitations placed on them by the issuer. Please contact the issuer’s support team and inquire about transferring or sharing the tickets in your Wallet.

If the issuer permits sharing, please follow the step by step instructions in the Apple Support article linked below.
