How to recover $98.95 from an invalidly redeemed $100 gift card?

$100.00 gift card couldn’t be redeemed. Reached out to Apple they said it had a hold for 98.95. Wait up to 2 days. I accidentally redeemed the $1.05. Now says invalid already redeemed. How do I get my $98.95 back ??? HELP
