Yale assure Lock 2 plus Homekey not working on my family members phone.

My Yale Assure Lock 2 Plus won't open using HomeKey on my family members Iphones.

When the lock was first setup and added to our home we all got homekey's added and everything worked. In trying to sort out an lock issue, the lock was reset to factory settings and in doing so removed from HomeKit.

Once it was re-added, homekey works on my devices (I am the home owner) but not on my family members. While tapping, the key shows a blue tick mark in wallet and the lock appears to recognise it but does not unlock.

We've tried;

  • removing and re-adding everyone to the home (homekeys were removed and re-added)
  • signing out and back into iCloud (all cards, including homekey, removed and re-added)
  • full device reboots
  • adding the lock to HomeKit from her device
  • Factory reset on lock for several time
  • Contacted yale support team and spen over 2 hours in trouble shooting and finally they said it is an apple homekit/ homekey issue

Using iphone 16 and the latest Ios update was two weeks back. I am not sure that this issue is linked with the ios update.

Any one faced such an issue and any way out

I've been facing this issue with my wife and I the past couple of days. now I dont know if I have it fixed for my guests (parents) since they left and I havent re-invited them. But I did get it working for my wife. What I did differently and I dont know if ALL of these steps are needed but it's what worked for me. I did the factory reset in the app to remove the lock, then did the hardware reset by holding in the reset button with the battery removed and replaced the battery and continuing to hold in the reset button for a minute.

Afterwards I added and configured the lock with my wife's phone, same with the homekit pairing. This was able to make her phone, and my phone have homekey work properly. The only issue I face, and it may be something I never noticed but the lock can only be locked/unlocked using the yale app and cannot use the home app to unlock/lock when not at home. (I do have the wifi module).

fingers crossed this works for you...
