suggestions for "replacing" Time Capsule

I'm a plug-n-go MacBook Air user, and I'm currently backing up on a Time Capsule. I have a wirelessly connected printer, and apart from an occasional visitor I am the lone user of this system. Assume that I don't know anything beyond my laptop; what are the current easiest suggestions for updating this arrangement---in grade school tech words?

You might want to take a look at Backblaze for a cloud based backup. One of the challenges with TimeMachine is that your production data (your Air) and the backup (the TM drive) are often in the same geographic location. This opens the risk of proximity. In the event that your home suffers a disaster (fire, flood, earthquake, power spike, theft, zombie apocalypse, etc.), then you run the risk of everything being lost. By having a cloud backup, you distance your data from your device.

This is not to say that a layered backup strategy is not recommended. The 3-2-1 method still has value. Consider a TM volume and a cloud backup to ensure the a layers backup approach.
