Why was the Slide-Over and Split View cancelled for the iPadOS 26?

I used to EASILY open two windows of Notability on my iPad, essentially allowing me to see four notes at the same time (since Notability natively allows two pages open simultaneous in a split screen). That way, I could see my textbook, the class notes, the homework questions, and my homework answers at the same time. On top of that, if I wanted to open a third window, with Safari for example, I could do so without closing both windows underneath.

Now, however, it is MUCH worse. You spend at least 30 seconds doing something that a week ago you used to do in one single gesture. If anyone from Apple is reading this right now, give me the option to allow my iPad Pro to have the perfectly good three dots multitasking please.
