Calendar search facility no longer working since ios 26 upgrade

Sorry to hear it still isn't working after the IOS 26 upgrade for some of you. I did find that I was having a search issue (after it was resolved). But the problem was on my end: I had selected only 2 calendars to search specific entries and failed to return to 'all' calendars. Then later when I did a search I couldn't find something I was looking for but remembered I had only 2 choices selected, after I changed the search to all...... VIOLA everything was back. This was on my iPhone 16+ and may MacBook Air M4. Maybe that will help someone.

yes, I'm replying to my own post..... VIOLA!! I returned to the problem of the calendar search on my iPhone 16 plus, IOS 26.0.1: I went to settings, turned off search in the calendar app, backed up the phone, turned off the phone, restarted after about a minute, turned on the search in the calendar app, backed up the phone and the search works again, just as it's supposed to!! trust this helps someone.

This worked for me. Went to the Calendar app in “Settings”. Turned the “Search” off & on and now things are searchable in the Calendar app.

Try going to settings, calendar, search & turn the two options off & on again. Worked for me.

But the problem was on my end, I only wanted to search on my saved birthday and anniversary calendars. Then later when I did a search I couldn't find something I was looking for. I had to go back into the calendar and select ALL to pull up all events.. VIOLA everything was back. This was on my iPhone 16+ and may MacBook Air M4. Maybe that will help someone.

Just did the 26.0.1 update and calendar search is back.

In settings, go to the calendar app and then “default calendars”. Select a different default and then change back to the original.

Switching calendar search options (in system settings) off then back on worked for me too. I didn’t upgrade to iOS 26 but recently updated 18.x.x. I’ll remember this trick because it isn’t the first time my iCal search stopped working.

Spent time on phone with Apple upper level support and she said Apple is aware of this problem as reports were coming in at that time on Wednesday when I called.

it has been turned over to engineers as she said so hopefully it will be fixed quickly.

Nope... search on my iPhone 16+ is up-to-date IOS 26.0.1. When I request a search it shows: no results. But if I press the small x in the search field, viola... it brings up the requested search: sometimes, maybe ½ the time. I've turned off/on the search request in settings but no help. The suggestions to click search and swiping down from the middle of the page doesn't work on my iPhone, maybe that's for an iPad or MacBook? Anyway, I've closed the calendar app/turned off my phone and still search doesn't give me a result. So far my MacBook Air M4 calendar works fine. Guess I'll have to wait longer and HOPE.

I finally downloaded Google Calendar because I can’t wait weeks for Apple to fix this search problem. I have too many VA appointments that I can’t afford to miss if I don’t check my calendar every day.

Thanks for posting this. Don’t update to 26.1 yet. If you haven’t already. My search was working just fine and now it isn’t. I don’t search every single day but my last update was 26.1. I’ve tried doing what you suggested and it’s not fixing my iPhone 16.

I waited until Apple issued 26.1. Before that iOS 18.7 and previous updates all allowed search to work in the calendar.

On my iPhone 15 with iOS 26.1 I cannot find where to select “All” calendars. I looked in “Settings/Apps/Calendar” and I also opened my calendar and selected the calendar icon in the lower right corner. I have checkmarks on all three iCloud items. No dice.
