iPad Pro, iPadOS 26
In Settings - Accessibility- Touch - Assistive Touch - turn it off
In Settings - Accessibility- Touch - Assistive Touch - turn it off
I found myself
Setting >> Accessibility >> Hover Text (Off)
in Settings > Accessibility > Hover Text
^^THIS^^
I also have this icon on my iPad Pro after upgrading to 2.6.
It is not the adaptive touch icon as I have turned that off already.
When I do click on this icon I lose the ability to do ANYTHING on the iPad.
Instead a label appears at the top centre and names everything I subsequently click on!
(At this point) the only solution is to reboot to regain control of my iPad.
I should have read the solutions above more carefully! Thank you HL SAW, Grant Bennet-Alder and Vancouver22.
It was indeed the Hover Text setting.
Now fixed! ;)
the icon shown is for Hover Text.
That enlarges whatever text is under the cursor.
Upgraded iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPad 10th Generation to iOS 26. Funky floating icon shows up on my iPad only. It does absolutely nothing. It is NOT Accessibility. That is a separate floating icon that does something - useful. Any help would be appreciated 😊
