Trackpad no longer controls iPad via Universal Control after iOS 26 update

After the latest iOS 26 update, when I bring my iPad close to my MacBook Pro, I can no longer control the iPad using the Mac’s trackpad, even though both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network and right next to each other.

This issue only started happening after the update.

Try and restart both the devices to see if ht issues persist. Have you tried to update both of the devices to the latest iPadOS and macOS versions?
