Switching from MacbookPro laptop, to first ever ipad advice request.

Hi, I'm wanting to know if i can I make a reservation at a Genie Bar to transfer all my data from an old Macbook Pro 15" (Late 2013, 16G 2.3Ghz) to a new ipad (either a new one from Apple, or a reconditioned one bought elswhere)? I understand my old applications won't be transferred & I'll be using apps instead. It's mainly so I don't lose any old e.mails etc. Will desktop folders for instance be transferred also?

Also, I'll be using it mainly for e.mails, surfing the web and possibly a very basic DTP app (Canvas?, or, if anyone can recommend an alternative, a few posters, flyers to create a pdf from?)

I was probably going to purchase a new basic ipad (11" / 128G / £329), as I will use t for basic work, unless anyone recommends a refurbished alternative with a similar spec. I's assume 11" screen will be suitable, instead of a 13" for my needs? Finally, any advice on a cheaper alternative to the Apple keyboard (£249 seems expensive). Thank you.
