NPS-America The Beautiful (ATB) Pass in Apple Wallet?

Is this a good idea? The Digital ID Card feature in iOS and watchOS is already excellent, and this feature has expanded in iOS 26. I would like to suggest adding the America the Beautiful federal recreation pass to Apple Wallet. This pass provides access to over 2,000 national parks and recreation sites, and many versions (such as the Senior Lifetime Pass) are non-transferable and non-replaceable. A secure digital version would greatly benefit Apple users, especially seniors, by reducing the need to carry the physical card and lowering the risk of loss. Senior Lifetime Pass – USGS

The issuing authority has to approve the addition of their membership/loyalty cards, boarding passes etc. Apple does not have a provision for users to add their own cards. The National Park Service would to approve and facilitate the addition of the cards through their secure website or a mobile app.

There are apps available in the Apple App Store for adding cards and technically your pass could be added. But would the NPS accept the card as valid for admission is the question.

You can try to get the ball rolling by submitting your suggestion using the link in the above post. You’ll also want to contact your elected representatives to get them behind the project. Good luck! 😄😄
