I can't change the date on shared photos

When I get photos from friends, they have today's date. I understand that. When I import them to Photos I can manually change the date to the correct one. Great. But if I then add that photo to a shared album, the photo in the shared album has the date from the import, not the changed date.

And I cannot edit the date in of the photo in the shared album. So sorting by date will always place this photo in the wrong place.
