Cannot add wifi service in Network

Hi! Having issues with my Wifi service. My device is a 2017 MacBook Air, Big Sur v 11.7.10. A few days ago, out of nowhere, it wouldn't recognize any Wifi networks, even a hotspot. The Wifi symbol was blank, not even searching. I eventually went to Profiles and deleted a bunch of stuff that dated back to an old job, which required several privacy and security apps that I guess were getting in the way. Now the WiFi bar is searching, but it still won't recognize any networks. Going to Network in System Preferences shows that WiFi isn't listed as an option in the bar on the left, and if I try to add an interface, WiFi isn't listed. I don't see an option to Add Service, either. At a loss - thanks for any tips.

Run Apple Diagnostics:

Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support

Apple Diagnostics does little more than confirm the presence of operable hardware, but if it concludes with anything other than ADP000 No issues found please reply with its reference code.

Assuming AD finds nothing wrong the next step would be to reinstall macOS:
