iPhone 16 with intermittent text and phone signal despite Wi-Fi connectivity

wi-Fi seems to work fine on my 16 but my phone and text have a waving signal where it tells you how many bars you have on your phone. If I turn it on and off, it works for a few minutes, but it happens all day long for three weeks getting ready to go into the fourth week now I have all the latest updates. Been cut off three times by Verizon people telling me they’re gonna get me a phone and I get cut off every time and I’ve been very nice lol I’m not mad. I just want my phone.

Texts to non-iPhones can only use the cellular network, Wi-Fi is irrelevant.

It’s quite possible that Verizon has a network outage in your area. If you travel a few miles away do you still have the problem?

Perhaps a long shot:

Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN, then restart your device. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN, but probably shouldn't.
