LaCie backup drive sending bogus messages about being disconnected

Daily, my MacBook Pro displays a message that my LaCie backup drive was not properly shut down before being disconnected from my Mac. But it is never disconnected except when I occasionally take the Mac elsewhere. At those times I do turn off the LaCie before disconnecting it. So there must be a software glitch in the LaCie for it to send messages in error. Can this be addressed or should I just continue to ignore it?

You say nothing of the Partition Map or File format of these drives...

You can contact your third party Lacie for any insight—

if in doubt search the developers website or contact their: Support/Help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility/updates…
