Mail app not downloading emails on iPhone
The default mail mail app has stopped downloading from the server. How come? I had to install Yahoo app to get emails!

Did you check wih Yahoo ?
Sometimes the provider (eg: Yahoo, GMail, hotMail etc.) may increase security measures, and require you to log in to your account on their website, check all is in order, and check the settings to ensure that Apple Mail app is still permitted access.
Also: Keeping your iPadOS version updated to the newest available compatible version for that model can often help sidestep issues. (NB: It is wise to back up iPad beforehand, if updating iPadOS version)
You can check for available updates in Settings > General > Software updates.
