I come from iTunes for Windows and just recently switched to macOS and thus must use Music App.
When you click on Song, and then search something, I am used to that the number of artists and albums change to reflect the search criteria, this is how it works on iTunes
But thus not on mac. Is this a setting I have missed?

Thx, that is the way I search or by clicking the icon on the right but it gives the same.
I search for something and only the amount of songs that are found changes not the numbers in column browser (Genres / Composers / Artists / Albums.
