AddressBook hangs on my iMac running macOS Big Sur 11.7.10

my address book will hang or disengage upon entering the notes field if I hesitate in filling out the note. It does not do this in safe mode. However it does it on normal start up. None of my other devices do this. I am not able to locate the addressbook pref. folder in the go menu.
