Barclays loan approved, but iPhone 17 order still on hold

Ordered mine last night. Went on hold, several hours later, got the email from Barclays to say it had been approved.

Shortly after, Apple Store updated to say order was now being processed.

Barclays Finance Approved. Pick up date and location given for the 19th Sep. Barclays Confirmation has Apple web order number allocated. No further confirmation from Apple via email iMessage or via Store app. Chased daily in the phone Fri/Sat/Sun. Told on Fri/Sat it was due to backlog of orders and it would catch up so keep checking. sun told Apple Order had been cancelled but call Barclays and then re order and origin a lot should be ok. Order actually cancelled by the system. Told to re order. No cancellation email or confirmation from Apple or Barclays. What’s the point of the pre order if the system can’t cope!

I am currently having the exact same issue, from some quick google searches it seems like this is a common issue for people and has been for a few years. Unfortunately nobody on those threads replied saying how long a resolution took.

Apple and Barclays are overwhelmed. It will take some time. We can't tell you how much time it might take, because are users......just like you.

I am also waiting to hear something back from Barclays.

I’ve received my documents, but it took a while for the link to actually work.

Now I need to verify my identity with Barclays for the final approval but the email they say they’re sending me isn’t coming through.

I’m hoping it comes through in time so that I can still pick up my phone from the store on release day.

Ordered my iPhone 17 Pro last week and today is my pick up for 1pm, doubt it’s going to be ready so how long does a Barclays loan through Apple take to get approved?
