If I purchase AppleCare+ in the USA, will that apply in India?

I am planning to buy an Apple Watch Series 10 (GPS-only, not Cellular) from the USA and use it in India.

Will the 1-year Apple Limited Warranty be valid in India if I need service?

If I purchase AppleCare+ in the USA, will that protection also apply in India?

Is there any difference in service coverage between the GPS-only model and the Cellular model when purchased abroad?

Could you please confirm the official policy for India?

Thank you.

Historically, it has proven extremely difficult to get Apple products purchased outside of India service in India.

Do yourself a favor and buy the products in India from an authorized retailer.

Recommend that you purchase your new device in the county of intended primary use.

This will — in one easy step — totally avoid any/all potential “issues, questions, and difficulties” re: Warranty, Import Duties, Frequency Management, Adherence to Safety Standards, Carrier Activation, … etc.

You can review the exact verbiage of the respective coverages here:

Legal - Hardware Warranties - Apple

and

Legal - AppleCare+ - Apple

Kilted Tim is correct, India has a long history of support and repair being refused for products purchased overseas.

I think you will also find Apple has already removed Apple Watch Series 10 from their web store in USA and in India. Unless you can find an Apple Store with old stock remaining (unlikely) that means you would have to purchase from a third party reseller also with old stock, which will may not be accepted for AppleCare+.

The bottom line is as Kilted Tim suggests, buy from an authorised seller in the country where you spend most of your time.

For what it's worth, I've had about six Apple Watches over the years, starting with the very first one. I've never needed service on any of them. They are a pretty trouble-free product. You might not be so luck, of course. And for that reason, I agree with the advice to buy it in India.

This is a user-to-user forum. Nothing said here is "official."
